Was at VivoCity yesterday.. and being girls, Xuan and I had.........* drumroll*..... Carnivore for dinner! It's a buffet spread and we really E.A.T - A.L.L - W.E - C.A.N! WITH a name like Carnivore, you can be sure the latest restaurant in Chijmes & VivoCity is no place for a vegetarian (sadly). The Brazilian churrascaria is, you guessed it, for SERIOUS (no kidding) meat lovers as there are 15 different cuts of meat served per night. If you have eaten at Brazil Churrascaria, you will be quite at home at Carnivore. **All smiles! Here's how it goes : At Carnivore, each diner is given a round disc with one sideGREENand the otherRED. GREENmeans bring on the meat andREDmeans you surrender. Flip it to show theGREENside, and the passadors - waiters bearing a skewer of meat which he slices over your plate with a razor-sharp knife - will make a beeline for your table. ( YUMMY!! ) My buffet starter: salads of palm hearts and fresh greens to provide a light overture before the crescendo of meats arrive. I love my garden of greens! Alright peeps.. Look at this.. YES! The yellowy, squeashy, mashy stuff that's on my plate.. guess wad is it? looks like sweet potato? Apricot Jam? Mango puree?? NO!more luck perhaps! It's mashed pumpkin! DO NOT belittle this HUGE scoop of yellow mash.. it taste.. WONDERSSS (note: many ssS).. It somewhat taste like creamy sweet potato with cream and cheese and a tinge of almond extract (sounds weird? u've got to try it yourself!) MY OH MY! I'm drooling as i'm typing though I just had it 4 hrs ago! >_<" WE love the passadors psst* look how elated Xuan is? She's always this happy as they come... & go!
BTW, The meat is merely rubbed with rock salt before being grilled so that you get to taste its natural flavour. (think about.. NATURAL!)
And if you feel, having dozen of cuts of meat being too filling and jelat, u can try other alternatives like.. Cream of cauliflower with cheese balls AND Buttered grilled Cod fish my all time fave! .....................................................................................................................................................................
In between the meats, a passador will also come over with a grilled pineapple, which provides a welcome reprieve from the meats. Tasting a little smoky from the grill, the sweet and juicy fruit will also prime you for more food! Just look at the number of servings I had!
