SHAME ON YOU PEOPLE WHO BUY FUR CLOTHINGS & ACCESSORIES! AND WE GIRLS STILL LOOK AWESOMELY GORGEOUS WITHOUT 'EM! F**K! The following isn't easy to read. It's the brutal world out there for animals that are reared for furs. That's why there's an urgent need to educate myself and yours about the horror that many are supporting- an unethical trade.
The below passage is extracted from CLEO; Do you know? Fur farms cram up thousand of foxes, minks, raccoons and other animals into tiny wire mesh cages for their entire lives. Animals are unable to move and are deprived of all that is natural to them, including exercise, sunlight and even the feel of grass beneath their feet.
These caged wild animals often get so frustrated that they end up biting off their own limbs and tails. And the poor creatures are made to suffer as they die: gassing, anal electrocution and even neck-breaking are the most common methods of killing animals raised for fur because this techniques protect the pelts from damage. Many creatures are in fact, still alive when they are skiined. One slaughterhouse worker says on the PETA website " The slaughter line has never stopped simply because an animal is still alive. They will still continue to skin them- alive without any pain killers or what so ever"
Knowing this, I can't understand why sales girls beam with pride when my Mummy ask them if an item is made from real fur. They go, "Yes its made from leather" Caged fur-bearing animals have to be unnaturally inbred for specific colours. But there girls standing behind their gleaming counters don't see how this mutation for animals for a pastel pink fur coat result in the animals born deaf, crippled, and with deformed sex organs.
THEY DIE IN MILLIONS >> About 50 million animals are killed for their fur a year. The huge demand for it made humane treatment IMPOSSIBLE (GET THAT!) >> France kills millions of rabbits a year in the name of luxury fashion. Farmers snap the bunnies necks or smash their skulls before stringing them up by their legs and cutting off their heads for their fur.
And if you're wondering: "Is there CRUELTY-FREE fur? N.O- NO! While taking the fur of an animal who did naturally does not involve cruelty, it can lead to a problem -- if using fur becomes acceptable, a demand will be created. Farming small animals for their fur in appalling conditions is relatively cost-effective and most would choose this option.
